Keep Your focus!!

You study the Word, you pray, you serve the body of Christ...You are doing everything you know to do and still your "due season" has not arrived. That one thing that you have asked God for; that deep, deep request that no one knows about, or maybe that one thing that you have outwardly proclaimed to the masses only to find yourself going around that mountain...one more time; living the lack...one more year. When you have been believing God for so long, standing on the Word for so long you could be at the point of wanting to give up. Before you let doubt set in and allow the vision that God gave you to wane from sight, be alert to the possibility that you could be losing your focus. There are three things that can cause you to lose your focus. Disinterest, discouragement, and dissatisfaction are three distractions that can throw you off course and can cause you to loose focus on the vision, the promise, and plan that God has shown you.
Disinterest can cause you to become passive while you are waiting for the promise of God. The danger is that apathy can set in. If you yield to apathy you will become less and less interested in what God is saying and doing. You could possibly become self-centered and pursue your own desires and interests and not God's.
Another cause for a loss of focus is dissatisfaction. If you become dissatisfied you could lose your appetite for the things of God. If you loose your hunger and thirst for His righteousness you will seek to fill that void elsewhere. There is a danger of falling into disobedience. Remember the Israelites; they wandered around in the wilderness for forty years due to their disobedience. Their three day trip turned out to be forty year delay on their way to the promised land...mostly due to their disobedience from being dissatisfied.
Discouragement sets in when it looks like what God has promised you is never going to happen. It just seems so out of reach...unattainable...impossible. Now listen to this: Satan, your enemy, wants you to focus on the disappointments and devastation of your life. He knows that if he can get you to focus and look at the "ashes" of your life long enough...he will have you convinced that you will never build your life back.
Disinterest, dissatisfaction, and discouragement are distractions can cause you to loose your focus and cause delays in your journey to the Promised land that the Lord has for you. Get in the Word of God! Get encouraged! Create an atmosphere of praise! If you are experiencing any of these "D's".. Identify it! Repent of it! Keep your focus!!
" For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it surely will come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:3
